4th graders put on their "Writer's Glasses" to analyze the text Mountains by Seymour Simon as a writer instead of a reader. They created a checklist of writing techniques that the author uses to engage his readers.

Christmas reading buddy activity. 1st graders and 3rd graders (Mrs. Popielaski and Mr. Johnson Classes) partnered to show off their reading skills with holiday themed selections. Then the older students assisted the younger one in creating reindeer or Santa bookmarks.

4th graders participated in a chalk talk to take a deeper look at the poem "Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening."
Fourth graders in Mrs. Lovell's class were treated to a visit by Angie DiMarco from the Worcester County Library. Students made mini book keychains, cards for residents at local nursing homes, and read "The Polar Express."
These third grade children collabrate to determine events to include in a timeline about Galileo.
❄️Students in 4th grade created storyboards to retell the poem "Dust of Snow" by Robert Frost in a story format. They drew their illustrations and created captions to describe a snapshot of each moment in the poem.❄️
4th graders learned about theme in the short story "All Summer In a Day"and wrote it down on a piece of paper. They wadded the paper up and had a "snowball fight" by adding details from the text to support their classmates' theme.
4th graders worked in groups to read through different parts of the text to identify sensory details that helped create a mood. Then they participated in a gallery walk to read each other's ideas.
Jigsaw groups become experts on a section of an article, so they can share their knowledge with other children that are experts on other sections of the same article. Cooperative learning about Galileo.
We had such a great time with our reading buddies in Mrs. Gibson’s class. They enjoyed making turkeys and sharing what they are thankful for.
